10 Weeks of Christmas- Week 10 Ginger Bread House Ornament

My very talented friend Julie Morris made me this cute treat box. When you open the box, you find the cutest ginger bread cookie house in it.

When I saw the ginger bread cookie house, I thought about this “Yummy Christmas” stamp set. I ‘ve had this stamp set for a while but I haven’t had chance to play with it. I decided to make this cute ornament as my last project of “10 weeks of Christmas” series.

The “Yummy Christmas” stamp set actually has a matching die to cut all of the images out. That means you probably want to get both so you can also make the cute “Ginger Bread Cuckoo Clock”.:-)

Here are the measurements for the paper:

Whisper White (100730):
- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (for two ginger bread houses reindeers, threes, hollies)
Crumb Cake (120953):
- 4 x1 (scored at 1/2, 2 , and 3 1/2)
- 5 x 3 3/4

Here is how:

Stamp two ginger bread houses, trees, reindeers and holly berries on Whisper White CS
Cut out the stamped images with dies. I like to cut out the images before I color them. A lot of time I did not cut out images perfectly and I just wasted the times on coloring. 🙁

Coloring the images with the Stampin Blend Markers. I used Light Old Olive, Dark Granny Apple Green, Light Crumb Cake, Light Soft Suede, Dark Daffodil Delight, and Dark Poppy Parade colors.

Glue the two trees, two reindeers, and two holly berries back to back on baker’s twine as “hanging part”.

Score the Crumb Cake CS at
- Long way (4 1/2″ side) at 1 3/4″ and 2 3/4″
- Short way (4″ side) at 1″ and 3″

Cut the Crumb Cake CS at red lines as picture above.
Poke a hole in the center of the Crumb Cake CS and insert the “hanging part” through the hold and tie a knot.

Assemble the box.

Score the Crumb Cake strip at 1/2″ , 3/4″ and 3 2/1″. Glue one side to the box and the other side use Velcro to attach to the box. If you don’t want the box to be opened, you can just glue the box. You don’t need to use the Velcro.
