Card: Tropical Aloha

2020-03-16T20:55:19-05:00March 16th, 2020|

Do you have enough of this raining, gray and cloudy weather?  I cannot wait for the sunshine and summer time.  Today, I want to show you a card with some tropical vibes with this “Timeless Tropical” stamp set.

I am also using the card and stickers from “Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack”.  In this pack, you’ll get 50 double-sided printed cards that you can use for quick card fronts, pocket scrapbooks, and more. The card pack also includes four sheets of stickers to further embellish your projects.  You can see all the designs about this card pack in the video below.

Here are the measurements of the paper for the card:

  • Basic Black:
    • 8 ½ x 5 ½ (card base)
    • 3 x 1/4
  • Whisper White:
    • 4 x 5 1/4 (inside the card for message)
  • Poppy Parade:
    • scrap for “Aloha”
  • Mango Melody:
    • 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (pineapple base)
  • Pineapple Punch:
    • 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (pineapple)
  • Granny Apple Green:
    • 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 (leaf)
  • Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack:
    • 3 x 4 card
    • stickers
Here is how:

  • Fold the Basic Black CS in half in the long way as the card base.
  • Glue the Whisper White CS inside the card for the message.
  • Glue the card from “Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack” to the card base.
  • Cut 4 ” Burlap Ribbons and glue it on the card base.
  • Glue the 3 x 1/4 Basic Black strip on top of Burlap Ribbon.
  • Cut “Aloha” with “In the Tropics Dies” in Poppy Parade color.
  • Glue “Aloha” on top of the Burlap ribbon.  Make sure to leave enough room on the left side for the pineapple.
  • Cut pineapple and leaf with “In the Tropics Dies.
    • Pineapple Punch: cut out the pineapple
    • Granny Apple Green: cut out the leaf
  • Glue the cut out pineapple on Mango Melody CS and hand cut out the pineapple so your pineapple is “color” with Mango Melody color.
  • Use the Crush Curry Ink to sponge around the pineapple.
  • Use the Granny Apple Green Ink to sponge around the pineapple leaf.  I also use bone folder to curve the leaf.
  • Glue pineapple and leaf to the card base.
  • I add the greeting and heart sticker from the “Tropical Oasis Memories & More Card Pack” to the card base.

Here is the side look of the card.  You can see the curve of the leaves and the heart is raised up because I use Stampin’ Dimensionals for it.
