Summer is here and the flowers that represents the summer the most is the Sunflower???.  When I see sunflowers I cannot stop smiling.  Today, I want to show you a quick and simple card made with the “Celebrate Sunflowers” stamp set.  ?

The paper I am using for this card is “Ornate Garden Specialty Paper”.  The Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper features lovely flowers plus all-occasion designs for a modern take on classic Victorian floras. Some sheets include gold foil designs. It is excellent for the card making and scrapbooking. I love the gold and brown/yellow color combinations so I think this ornate garden paper is perfect for this sunflower card.

The colors that I used to color the flowers were Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Soft Suede.  The Stampin Blend Markers are perfect to color the large images, because you will not leave painting strokes.  You also can blend the colors to create a natural flower look.

I used the Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon in this card because I want to tie the color to the sunflower leaves. And I have a lot of this pretty but retired ribbon on hand.  It will be super cute to use the new 1/4″ Bumblebee Gingham Trim Ribbon in this card.  ?

Here are the measurements for the paper:

  • Whisper White:
    •  (2) 5 ¼ x 4 (One for inside the card for the message and one for stamp the flower and leaves)
  • Daffodil Delight
    • 2 ¼ x ½
  • Early Espresso
    • 8 ½ x 5 ½
  • Ornate Garden Special Designer Series Paper (DSP):
    • 2 1/4 x 4 3/4

Here is how to make the card:

  • Fold Early Espresso CS in half in the long way as card base.
  • Glue one 4 x 5 ¼ Whisper White CS inside the card for the message.
  • Wrap one ribbon around the DSP before glue DSP to the card base.
  • Stamp sunflower and two leaves on the other 4 x 5 ¼ Whisper White CS.
  • Cut the images with the matching Sunflower dies.
  • Color the images with Stampin Blend Markers.
  • Stamp the sentiment on Daffodil Delight stripe.
  • Arrange and glue the flower, leaves and sentiment to the card. I used pop dots on the flower and sentiment.
  • Loop another ribbon through the ribbon on the card and tie a bow.
