This quick and easy birthday card is from Stampin’ Up Piece of Cake stamp set in the new Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set also has the punch to cut out the cake image.  There are so many difference types of cakes in the stamp set and a lot of great words to go with all kinds of celebration occasions.

The red paper is from the All My Love DSP.  The size is 2 1/2 x 2 1/2.  The “Life’s too short to say no to cake” phrase is from the Amazing Life stamp set.  I stamped the words in Balmy Blue Ink on 2 1/2 x 2/1/2 White cardstock.  I also layered it with 2 3/4 x 2 3/4 Balmy Blue cardstock.

The cake stand and cakes in the  Piece of Cake stamp set are separate.  There is a tip for you to mount the stamp on the block so you can punch out the stamp image perfectly.

  • Choose the cake stand and cake image that you like.
  • Lay the stamp images on the punch.  The flat side face up.

  • Put the clear block on the top of the stamps

  •  Stamp the image on the paper
  • Now you have the perfect image to cut out the cake and cake stand.

I used the Lovely Lipstick and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend Markers to color the cake.  Here is a closer view of the cake. Here is the full list of the supplies to create this cute card.
