My friend gave me this cute box during Easter time. I really love the look of using paper straws to close the box. I made more boxes with the new “Lilypad Lake” stamp set as my Fundraiser door prize. I love looking at water waves , water lilies and sailboats and this stamp set has it all. This set is the first set that I picked when I placed the order from the new catalog. I think this box turned out pretty cute.
Here is how to make the box:
- Cut 8 1/4″ x 6″ card stock. Scored at 2″, 4″, 6″, and 8″ in the long side. Scored 2″ and 4″ in the short side. Also you need to score the diagonal lines (A) as picture below.
- Cut on the red lines as pictured above.
- Create a box by gluing the small flaps on the side. The glued box looks like the picture below without base glued.
- Glue the box base
- When working on the top of the box, fold the scored lines first. Fold down the individual flap first, then fold the piece with the diagonal lines (A).
- Once we have the crease for the diagonal lines (A), you need to fold another line as pictured below. Once you fold in both sides, then you can fold back the diagonal lines (A).
- Use the hold punch to punch holds on the side flaps. You need to punch the holds twice and off a little bit from each other so the hold will be big enough for the paper straw to go through.
- Then decorate the box
