Happy Chinese New Year- Wood Dog 2018

Happy Chinese New Year!!!! Today is the first day of the Dog year.

In Chinese element theory, each zodiac sign is associated with one of the five elements: Gold (Metal), Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. The year 2018 is represented by the Dog of the Wood element.

When I saw the lantern stamps in the “Color me happy” stamp set, I thought about Chinese New Year. I finally had time to sit down and make this new year card. I used traditional Chinese dominate colors: red, black and gold. The big Chinese word on the card means “good future”. Because this year is the Dog year, the writing incorporated the dog in the word. Now, we have officially kicked off the 15 days of the Chinese New Year celebration!!
