Are you a paper hoarder like I am? I have so many pieces of scrap paper that I have saved throughout my paper crafting years. My goal is always to try to be as “Green” as possible. I bring reusable bags with me when I go shopping. I have my own coffee mug as well as forks and spoons at work. So, I don’t use the plastic utensils. I recycle my trash and collect rain water for my plants. Since today is Earth Day, I think it is a perfect day to re-use my scrap paper to make some cards. Today I want to show you how to use larger size pieces of scarp paper.
I got this card from my friend Gayle Enouen at OnStage swap. This will be a great way to use my scrap paper.
First, I sort through all of my scrap paper by colors. In the past, I saved all of my scrap Designer Series Paper (DSP) in a 12×12 plastic container. I found that I was never able to find the paper that I wanted because it was buried at the bottom of my scrape pile. I also discovered that it takes me forever to pull out all of the small pieces that has the same colors. I think the best way is to save them in the original bag. When you want to work on the scarp paper you just pull one bag out. You will find the coordinated color easier and you will not be overwhelmed before you start to work on the cards.
Second, I used the Tailored Tag Punch to punch out a lot of tags. It’s okay if you are not able to punch the whole tag. You need some partial tags when you line them up on the paper. Then you cut the card base. It can be any size.
I used up three pack of scrap paper and here are my final products:
