I want to show you the 4th project of the “10 Weeks of Christmas” – Holiday Lantern. I put the LED tea light inside the lantern and placed it in my bathroom at night. I use it as a night light during the holiday season.
The stamp set I am using today is Christmas Gleaming. The ornaments in the stamp set have the gorgeous details. The best thing is that these ornaments has the matching punches to cut them out. 🙂
Here are the measurements for the paper:
- Night of Navy (100867):
- (2) 5 ½ x 4 ¼ (A)
- (2) 5 ½ x 3 ¼ (B)
- 3 ¼ x 3 ¼ (lantern base)
- Copper Foil Sheet (142020):
- (4) ½ x 3 ¼
- 3 x 8 (punch 4 ornaments)
- Vellum Cardstock (101856):
- (4) 2 ½ x 4 ¼
- Brightly Gleaming Specialty Design Series Paper:
- 3 x 8 (punch 4 ornaments)
- Whisper White (100730):
- Scrap to stamp four Holly Berries
Here is how:
- Score the (2) 5 ½ x 4 ¼ Night of Navy CS at ½ on three sides. Fold the scored lines and cut the corners as the diagram below.
- Score the (2) 5 ½ x 3 ¼ Night of Navy CS at ½ on the long side. Fold the scored lines and cut the corners as the diagram below.
- Use the Stitched Rectangles Die to cut the “windows” for all four pieces above. The windows are off the center – towards left side.
- Glue the Vellum CS behind the “windows
- Glue all four pieces to the 3 ¼ x 3 ¼ lantern base and create the box. Yellow area is for the glue.
- Stamp 4 holly berries on Whisper White CS and color it with Aqua painter. I used Garden Green color for the leaves and Poppy Parade color for the berries.
- Cut the holly berries out with hand and glue red sequins to the berries.
- Use the Gleaming Ornaments Punch to cut out 4 ornaments with Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP.
- Punch out 4 ornaments with Copper Foil Sheet and embossed it with Tufted 3D embossing folder.
- Arrange and glue the ornaments and holly berries to the lantern. I glued the Copper ornament and holly berries to the lantern and then used the “pop dots” to attach the DSP ornament to the lantern.
- Tie a bow with red twine and attach it to the ornament.
- Glue the Copper Foil strip to the top of the lantern.
- Repeat the same for the other three side.
- Put the Flame-less LED Tea Light in the center of the lantern and enjoy.
