I have not worked in the garden at all this year because my allergies have been very bad. Our neighbors’ garden look very nice so I decided to cheat a little until my allergies get better. I stuck some silk flowers in my flower pot and my yard to add some color. I know Mums are not summer flowers, but a little colors do make my flower bed look better. I think the flowers looks so real and even the butterflies flies around them.
The “fake” hibiscus flower pot reminds me of the “Humming Along” stamp set, so I decided to make a card with the Hibiscus flower.
Here are the measurements for the paper
- Pineapple Punch:
- 8 1/2 x 5 1/2″ (cut 8 1/2 x 11 paper half in the long way)
- Whisper White:
- 3 1/2 x 4 1/2
- Scrap for the flower and tag (I used 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ paper for both)
- Basic Black:
- 3 1/2 x 1 3/4 (for the tag)
- (2) 3 1/2 x 1/8
Here is how:
- Fold the Pineapple Punch Card Stock in half as card base.
- Stamp the ” Hibiscus flower” and “sentiment” on Whisper White card stock.
- Use the Hummingbird Framelits dies to cut out the Hibiscus flower and tag.
- There is a very cool die in this set. The die cuts out a pattern that looks like net. I used this die to cut the 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 Whisper White card stock to create the background.
- Glued the Whisper White paper to the Pineapple Punch card base.
- Glued the two Basic Black strips on top and bottom of the Whisper White paper.
- Used Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to color the Hibiscus flower.
- Used the Hummingbird Framelits dies to cut another tag in Basic Black color.
- Cut the Basic Black tag in half horizontally and layered under the Whisper White tag.
- Use the Stampin’ Demontionals to attach the Hibiscus flower and tag to the card.
- Used Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush to color over the flower to add some “bling” to the card.
Here is the card from a different angle.
